The Global Academic Studio Cookies Policy

This Cookies Policy explains how The Global Academic Studio (https://theglobalacademicstudio.com/, the “Site”) uses cookies and similar technologies, the choices you have, and how to manage them. It should be read alongside my Privacy Policy, which explains how I handle your personal information more generally, and my Terms and Conditions.

The Global Academic Studio is operated by Tamas Robert Cserni, a sole trader based in London, United Kingdom. I am the data controller responsible for your personal information.

1. What Are Cookies

Cookies are small text files placed on your device when you visit a website. They are widely used to make websites work, to remember your preferences, and to provide information to the site owner. This policy also covers similar technologies, such as pixels, tags, and local storage, which perform comparable functions. Where this policy refers to cookies, it includes these similar technologies.

Cookies may be set by me (first party cookies) or by third party services I use, such as analytics and advertising providers (third party cookies).

2. Why I Use Cookies

I use cookies to keep the Site secure and working properly, to remember your choices, to understand how visitors use the Site so I can improve it, and, where you consent, to measure and support marketing. I do not use cookies to identify you personally beyond what is described in my Privacy Policy.

3. The Categories of Cookies I Use

I group cookies into the following categories.

Strictly necessary cookies. These are required for the Site to function and to keep it secure, for example remembering your cookie choices or enabling core features. They do not require your consent because the Site cannot work properly without them.

Preference cookies. These remember choices you make, such as your language or region, to give you a more personalized experience. These are used only with your consent.

Statistics and analytics cookies. These help me understand how visitors find and use the Site, for example which pages are visited, so I can improve it. These are used only with your consent.

Marketing and advertising cookies. These are used to measure the effectiveness of my marketing and, where applicable, to show or measure relevant advertising, including through third party tools. These are used only with your consent.

4. The Cookies I Actually Use

The specific cookies in use on the Site, including their names, providers, purpose, and how long they last, are listed in the cookie declaration shown or linked on this page. That declaration is generated by my cookie consent tool, which scans the Site regularly and keeps the list up to date. Because the exact cookies can change as the Site changes, that declaration is always the current and authoritative list.

5. Your Consent and How to Manage It

When you first visit the Site, you are shown a cookie banner. Cookies that are not strictly necessary are not placed until you give your consent through that banner. You can accept all, reject all, or choose which categories to allow.

You can change or withdraw your consent at any time by opening the cookie settings link on the Site, which reopens your preferences. Withdrawing consent does not affect cookies that were already placed on the basis of your earlier consent, but it stops further use going forward. Your consent is remembered for a limited period, after which you may be asked again.

Where this feature is available, my cookie consent tool keeps a record of the choices each visitor makes, so that consent can be demonstrated if needed.

In the United Kingdom, prior consent for cookies that are not strictly necessary is required by the Privacy and Electronic Communications Regulations (PECR), read together with the UK GDPR. In the European Union, it is required by the ePrivacy rules, read together with the EU GDPR. Consent is the legal basis for placing non essential cookies, as explained in my Privacy Policy.

6. Browser Controls and Opt Out Signals

You can also control cookies through your browser settings, including blocking or deleting cookies. Most browsers, including Chrome, Safari, Firefox, and Edge, let you manage cookies through their settings, and you can refer to your browser’s help pages for instructions. Please note that blocking some cookies may affect how the Site works, and some features may not function as intended.

Some browsers can also send an automatic privacy signal. Where your browser sends a Do Not Track signal or a recognized opt out preference signal, such as the Global Privacy Control, I treat it as a request to opt out of any sale or sharing of your personal information through advertising cookies.

7. Third Party Cookies

Some cookies are set by third party services I use, such as analytics and advertising providers. These providers may process information in accordance with their own privacy and cookie policies, which I encourage you to review. The current third party providers are shown, with their cookies, in the cookie declaration shown or linked on this page, and the categories of recipient are described in my Privacy Policy.

8. Your US Privacy Rights

If you are a resident of California or another US state with privacy laws, you have rights in relation to cookies that may involve the sale or sharing of personal information for advertising. I do not sell your personal information. I do not share it for cross context behavioral advertising except through advertising cookies that operate only with your consent, and you can withdraw that consent at any time using the cookie settings link. I also honor recognized browser opt out signals as described in Section 6. For more detail on your US rights, please see the relevant section of my Privacy Policy.

9. Children

The Site is intended for adults. My paid services, the Membership, and any account require you to be at least 18 years old. Some free resources are aimed at prospective students who may be under 18, and any person under 18 who uses the Site should do so with the involvement of a parent or guardian. I do not knowingly use cookies to collect personal information from children.

10. Changes to This Cookies Policy

I may update this Cookies Policy from time to time, for example if the cookies I use change or the law changes. When I do, I will update the “Updated on” date below. The live cookie declaration shown or linked on this page updates automatically as the Site is scanned.
