The Global Academic Studio Privacy Policy
This Privacy Policy explains what Personal Information I collect, why I collect it, how I use and protect it, who I share it with, how long I keep it, and the rights you have. It applies to your use of https://theglobalacademicstudio.com/ (the “Site”) and to my coaching, Membership, courses, and related services.
The Global Academic Studio is operated by Tamas Robert Cserni, a sole trader based in London, United Kingdom. I am the data controller responsible for your Personal Information.

1. Who I Am (Data Controller)
The data controller for your Personal Information is Tamas Robert Cserni, trading as The Global Academic Studio.

● Data protection registration: I am registered with the UK Information Commissioner’s Office (ICO) as a data controller. My registration reference is available on request.
The ICO is the UK supervisory authority for data protection. Its details are in Section 19.
2. What This Policy Covers
This Privacy Policy covers Personal Information I collect through the Site, through my email list and social media, and through my coaching, Membership, courses, and other services. It does not cover third party websites or platforms that have their own privacy policies, which are your responsibility to review.
3. Definitions
● “Personal Information” means information that can be used on its own, or together with other information, to identify you, such as your name, email address, postal address, telephone number, payment information, and information about how you use the Site.
● “Content” means the written, visual, video, or audio information on or provided through the Site, including emails, resources, and materials.
● “Site, Courses, Services, and/or Products” means the Site and its pages, my email list, social media, coaching services, Membership, courses, webinars, guides, resources, downloads, and recordings.
● “You” or “Your” means the user, customer, client, member, or visitor.
4. The Personal Information I Collect
Information You Provide
When you contact me, book a call, sign up for a resource or my email list, or purchase a service or Membership, I may collect your name, email address, postal address, telephone number (if you provide it), payment information, and any information you include in messages or forms.
Information from Coaching and Membership
When you work with me, I may collect and create additional information, including your academic and career history, your goals, circumstances relevant to your development, and documents you share such as CVs, statements, or application materials. I may also keep session notes and records of agreed actions, and, where sessions are recorded, recordings of live sessions. If you take part in the Membership community, I collect the posts and contributions you make there.
Information Collected Automatically
When you use the Site, I may collect technical and usage information, such as your device type, browser, IP address and approximate location, and how you interact with the Site. This is collected through cookies and similar technologies, and only with your consent where the law requires it. See Section 13 and my Cookies Policy.
Special Category Information
I do not require or ask for information about your health, and coaching is not a health service. Because coaching conversations can touch on wellbeing, you may sometimes choose to share information that counts as special category data under data protection law, such as information about your mental or physical health. Where you do, I process it only on the basis of your explicit consent and only to support our coaching work. Please share only what you feel is necessary, and you can ask me to delete such information at any time.
I collect Personal Information directly from you, through your use of the Site, and through the tools I use to run my business. Some information is necessary to provide my services: if you choose not to provide it, I may be unable to deliver the service, process your payment, or respond to your request. Providing marketing consent is always optional.
5. How I Use Your Personal Information
I use your Personal Information to:
● provide and deliver the services, Membership, courses, and resources you request;
● process payments and manage subscriptions and your account;
● communicate with you about your enquiries, bookings, and services;
● send you marketing emails where you have signed up or where the law allows, as explained in Section 7;
● improve and secure the Site and understand how it is used;
● keep records and meet my legal, tax, and accounting obligations; and
● protect the safety of you or others, and respond to lawful requests.
6. My Lawful Bases for Processing (UK and EU GDPR)
Under the UK GDPR and the EU GDPR, I rely on the following lawful bases:
● Performance of a contract: to provide the services, Membership, courses, and resources you purchase or request, including payments and support.
● Consent: to send you marketing communications, to place non-essential cookies, and to process any special category information you choose to share. You can withdraw consent at any time.
● Legitimate interests: to run, improve, and secure my business, to respond to enquiries you send me, and to send existing clients and enquirers information about my similar services, provided this is not overridden by your rights.
● Legal obligation: to comply with legal, tax, accounting, and regulatory requirements.
Where I process special category information, such as information about your health or wellbeing that you choose to share, I rely on your explicit consent.
Safeguarding. Where I need to use or disclose your Personal Information, including special category information, to protect your vital interests or those of another person, for example in a safeguarding emergency where your consent cannot reasonably be obtained, I rely on the vital interests basis and the corresponding condition under the UK GDPR and the Data Protection Act 2018.
Automated decisions and profiling. I do not make decisions about you based solely on automated processing that produce legal or similarly significant effects. Any profiling is limited to the analytics and advertising cookies described in my Cookies Policy, which operate only with your consent.
7. Marketing Communications
I send marketing emails, such as newsletters, resources, and offers, where you have signed up to receive them, for example by entering your email to download a resource, to book a discovery call, or to join my email list or Membership, having been told clearly at that point that you will receive emails from me. Where the law allows, I may also send existing clients and enquirers information about my similar services on the basis of my legitimate interest.
Every marketing email includes an unsubscribe link, and you can opt out at any time by unsubscribing or by emailing me. If you contact me through the Site’s contact form, I use your details only to respond to your enquiry, and I will not add you to my marketing list unless you have separately asked me to.
8. Who I Share Your Personal Information With
I do not sell your Personal Information. I share it only where necessary to run my business and deliver my services, with the following categories of recipient:
● Website, landing pages, and email: my website, landing page, and email platforms, currently Kit and Google.
● Membership, community, content library, and customer records: my membership and CRM platforms, currently Kajabi or Katalyst.
● Online sessions and recordings: my video platform, currently Zoom.
● Payments: my payment providers, currently Stripe or Katalyst, who process your payment details directly. I do not store your full card details.
● Analytics and advertising: analytics and advertising providers used only where you have given consent, such as Google Analytics and the Meta (Facebook) pixel. The specific tools currently in use are listed in my Cookies Policy.
● Artificial intelligence tools: AI tools that support my work, currently Claude and ChatGPT, using settings that, so far as available to me, do not use inputs to train their models.
All of these providers are required to keep your Personal Information secure and to use it only for the agreed purposes. I may also disclose your Personal Information where I am required to do so by law, or to a relevant authority or professional where I have a genuine and reasonable concern about the safety of you or another person, as described in my Terms and Conditions and Disclaimer.
9. International Data Transfers
Some of my providers, including Kajabi or Katalyst, Zoom, Google, Stripe, Claude, and ChatGPT, are based in or process data in the United States or other countries outside the UK and the European Economic Area (EEA). Where your Personal Information is transferred outside the UK or EEA, I take steps to ensure it is protected by appropriate safeguards recognized under UK and EU data protection law, such as the UK International Data Transfer Agreement, the UK Addendum to the EU Standard Contractual Clauses, or a finding of adequacy.
10. How Long I Keep Your Personal Information
I keep your Personal Information only for as long as necessary for the purposes for which it was collected, including to meet legal, tax, and accounting requirements. In general:
● Coaching records, including session notes: up to 12 months after the end of our coaching engagement, unless you ask me to delete them sooner or the law requires me to keep them longer.
● Session recordings: while they remain relevant to your Membership, program, or content library, and in any event no longer than 5 years, after which they are deleted or replaced with updated recordings.
● Community posts and contributions: until you leave the Membership or ask me to delete them, subject to routine backups.
● Transaction and payment records: up to 6 years, to meet UK tax and accounting obligations.
● Marketing subscription data: until you unsubscribe or withdraw consent.
● Website analytics data: kept in aggregated or anonymized form where possible.
When your Personal Information is no longer needed, I securely delete or anonymize it.
11. How I Keep Your Personal Information Secure
I use appropriate technical and organizational measures to protect your Personal Information, including a secure (SSL) connection on the Site, limited access, and reputable service providers who are required to keep your information secure. Payments are handled by my payment providers, and I do not store your full card details. No method of transmission or storage is completely secure, but I take reasonable steps to protect your information and to respond appropriately if a problem occurs.
12. Your Data Protection Rights (UK and EU)
If you are in the UK or the EU, you have the following rights over your Personal Information:
● to be informed about how your information is used, as set out in this policy;
● to access a copy of the information I hold about you;
● to have inaccurate or incomplete information corrected;
● to have your information erased in certain circumstances;
● to restrict or object to certain processing;
● to receive your information in a portable format;
● to withdraw consent at any time, without affecting processing already carried out;
● not to be subject to a decision based solely on automated processing that has legal or similarly significant effects (I do not make such decisions); and
● to complain to a supervisory authority.
To exercise any of these rights, please email me at robby@theglobalacademicstudio.com. To protect your information, I may need to verify your identity before acting on a request. I will respond within one month, as required by law.
You also have the right to complain to the ICO at ico.org.uk, although I hope you will contact me first so I can help put things right.
13. Cookies and Similar Technologies
My Site uses cookies and similar technologies. Essential cookies are needed for the Site to work. Non-essential cookies, including analytics and advertising cookies, are used only where you have given consent through the cookie banner, and you can change or withdraw your preferences at any time. 14. Children’s Privacy
My Site, Courses, Services, and Products are intended for adults aged 18 and over, and I do not knowingly collect Personal Information from anyone under 18. Some free resources are aimed at prospective students who may be under 18; these are intended to be accessed by a parent or guardian on the young person’s behalf, and any account, purchase, or Membership requires you to be at least 18. If you believe someone under 18 has provided me with Personal Information, please contact me and I will delete it.
15. Your US Privacy Rights (California and Other US States)
If you are a resident of California or another US state with privacy laws, you may have additional rights, including the right to know what Personal Information I collect and how I use it, the right to access, correct, or delete it, and the right to opt out of the sale or sharing of your Personal Information.
I do not sell your Personal Information. I do not share it for cross context behavioral advertising except through the analytics and advertising cookies described in my Cookies Policy, which operate only with your consent, and you can withdraw that consent at any time. I will not discriminate against you for exercising your rights. To make a request, please email me at robby@theglobalacademicstudio.com.
Where your browser sends a recognized opt out preference signal, such as the Global Privacy Control (GPC), I treat it as a request to opt out of any sale or sharing of your Personal Information through advertising cookies.
For email marketing, I comply with the US CAN-SPAM Act: I identify marketing messages, include my business contact details, and honor unsubscribe requests promptly.
16. Third Party Links
The Site may contain links to third party websites or services. I am not responsible for the content or privacy practices of those third parties, and I encourage you to read their privacy policies before providing them with your information.
17. Data Breaches
In the event of a personal data breach, I will take appropriate steps in line with data protection law, including notifying the ICO, and affected individuals, where the breach is likely to result in a risk to your rights and freedoms.
18. Changes to This Privacy Policy
I may update this Privacy Policy from time to time. When I do, I will update the “Updated on” date below. Where changes are significant, I will take reasonable steps to let you know, for example by email or a notice on the Site.

If you are in the EU, you may also complain to the data protection authority in your country of residence.
